A Week in the Life: 4.29.12- One whole week: done!

Holy Smokes!
I actually did it!
I captured our life for one whole week.
Words can't begin to describe how excited I am right now that I am typing this and adding pictures for the 7th day of a documentation project.
You see, I'm one of those people that tends to run through life leaving a ton of unfinished projects in my wake. To have finally completed this is uh-may-zing!!!

Sundays are busy days for us!
We joke around and say that it's the start of our work week but honestly at times it feels like that is true.
This Sunday was more busy than normal because it was Grandpa Earl's birthday so we drove to Eaton in order to celebrate.

The day started off at 8:00 when our alarm goes off.

Part of our Sunday routine is that Daddy feeds Adeline and gives her her bath while Mommy gets some time to herself to take a long(er) shower than normal and spend some time getting ready.
Photobucket

We leave for church which is about 15 minutes away and we usually are running late. This Sunday we were running especially late and it was all my fault because I misjudged our time.
Photobucket

We teach the youth Sunday school class since Landen is the youth minister and we started a study on Esther this week. I'm really enjoying our Wednesday night bible study on Esther and I am hoping the youth will enjoy the story too.

I just so happened to open up my Bible and it fell on the page that my favorite verse is on. I of course had to take a picture to capture this coincidence!
Photobucket

My bible is an old friend. It's been there through good time and bad times and it is always the place I turn when I need good, honest advice. There are tear stains on pages where I was crying out for guidance and there are funny quotes and comments gained from bible studies shared with great friends.  Even though it still bears my maiden name, I can't part with it. One day I'm sure I will trade up, but not just yet.

The service was great and lasted till about 12:15.

After church we headed to his Grandparent's house and commenced with the birthday celebration. We spent time eating and throwing football outside. It was the first time I had attempted to throw or do anything remotely athletic since my surgery and I was surprised that it didn't hurt at all. Other than my normal back pain which is becoming a good friend. Adeline got lots of attention from all the Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. The food was amazing, as usual!

After the party it was straight back to church for choir practice and AWANA

and then home around 8:45 for a quick walk around the block and using the beautiful night light to take some pictures around the neighborhood. (And I didn't plan on the bird actually being on the street sign, but considering the name of our street it was actually quite fitting!)

So there we go. One week. I hope that your week was great, and that you took time to think about the little monotonous routines that make up your everyday. We have so much to be thankful for. Even if you don't take the time to carry a camera around and jot down notes of what is happening throughout the day, do something to record your memories. These are the best days of our life, and all too soon they will be replaced by other memories and forgotten. I'm glad I took the time to capture what our family looked like during a normal week. I am so thankful for everyday blessings!

Week in the Life: 4.28.12

Saturday.
One of my favorite days of the week. Landen is usually off work, although since Adeline has been born he has worked the last 3 or 4 to let some of his tellers have some time off.
This was one of the Saturday's he had to work.
He goes in at 9:00 and is usually home around 1 or 1:30.
I was up and working around the house getting us all ready for the day and enjoying my morning cup of tea.

When he got home he took over Adeline and let me run out and do a few errands and have some 'me' time. (I don't think he understands, however, that 'me' time will never exist for me again, because even when it's just 'me', I'm always thinking about 'her'.)

While I was out, Landen's mom called with some really exciting news, Landen's cousin was drafted to the Dallas Cowboys!! It was so cool to see his name come across the screen. Funny story from the day was that even though Landen had been waiting in anticipation for 3 days to see if James would get drafted, he fell asleep for 10 minutes and of course that just happens to be the ten minutes that he gets drafted in. Thank God for DVR or I wouldn't have been able to get these pictures!

Dinner was cereal for me, and a sandwich for Landen.
Photobucket

The rest of the night consisted of normal evening stuff.
Photobucket
lounging on the couch watching TV, and surfing the internet, reading blogs, pinning on Pinterest, checking Facebook,

Photobucket
and looking for house decor ideas. I'm really liking the walls in this picture. Landen does to, maybe we can make it happen?!?

One more day to go. I can't believe I actually made it this far!!!

Week in the Life: 4.27.12

Friday was one of those days.
You know the kind (I eluded to it in yesterday's post), the kind where the day seems to get away from you and before you know it you are laying down to sleep and you have no idea where it went.
You can kind of tell by the amount of photos I took and the kind I took.

Adeline was an extremely hungry, clingy, little girl, so much of my day was spent nursing her and then trying to build up my refrigerated supply by pumping, all the while holding her because she screamed every time I put her down. When I wasn't doing this I was trying to re-energize myself between drinking lots of tea and napping with her.  Like I said, one of those days. A thunderstorm later in the day just added to the blah.

So the shots I got for the day aren't the most creative, thought-out, or interesting, but hey sometimes life is just that isn't it?

Photobucket
One of the rare times Adeline was calm enough to let me lay her down. She looked so darn cute I had to snap a quick picture!

Photobucket
My pay stub came in the mail today. Things like this are what we like to call "happy mail!"

Photobucket
Landen sent me a picture of the new park where his second branch is located. It was nice to have him documenting his day too.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Abbey spent her day just lounging around the house too. She was our first "child" and I can't help but get some pictures of her.

When Landen got home we went to Dick's to price adjust the baseball items I bought earlier in the week and then stopped by Panera to try their Cuban Chicken Sandwich that I had been craving. I got mine with a greek salad and Landen had the broccoli cheddar soup.  It was a yummy dinner for sure!

Photobucket
Our evening wrapped up with some play time for Daddy and Adeline

Photobucket
some design time for Mommy

Photobucket
and some Facebook time

Photobucket
and finally some popcorn time while watching TV.

A random, long day, but it was a day of our life, and isn't that what this was all about...I think so.

Week in the Life: 4.26.12

Thursday was a day all about randomness and killing time.
Some days are like that lately.
Some days feel like there aren't enough hours in the day to get all the feeding/changing/cleaning accomplished.
Other days feel like it comes so easily and we spend our time just coasting through the day.
Landen had a busy day that started at 6:45 with a Junior Achievement class he taught in a neighboring school district.
My day started a little later around 8:45 or so.

Photobucket
Adeline relies on Mommy for food, so my first job of everyday after feeding her is pumping more food.

Photobucket
Someone likes to fight sleep lately.

Photobucket
Sometimes even the best made plans get forgotten about...for example, laundry that was washed 2 days ago.

Photobucket
Working on the design of my WITL photo book.

Photobucket
Scoping out the emptiness of our refrigerator.

Photobucket
Photobucket
Finally taking time for some breakfast, Strawberry unfrosted PopTarts with peanut butter and ice cold milk.

Photobucket
I accidentally took this picture of the couch while prepping for the next one you'll see, but I am so glad I did since this is the spot I spend most of my time between feeding, pumping, and cuddling.

Photobucket
Getting my shoes on to go on a walk with my bestie and her two boys.

Photobucket
Adeline loves walks outside. Hoping she's as big of an outdoors person as her Mommy and Daddy.

Photobucket
A two mile walk around the neighborhood rewarded this Mama with a tasty snack of Diet Coke and Cheetos!

Photobucket
Best tasting fingers ever!

Photobucket
Time for Adeline to eat.

Photobucket
Going to sleep.

Photobucket
Hanging out in my bouncy seat is good for the soul! (Her face in this picture cracks me up!)

Photobucket
Landen brought home a sweet homemade gift made just for Adeline.

Photobucket
Landen fixed a simple dinner.

Photobucket
Photobucket
And then sat down to watch the much anticipated NFL draft that he's been counting down to.

Photobucket
I'm a simple meat and potatoes type of girl.

And lastly,
Photobucket
you can't say no to a cute picture like that!
