Holy Smokes!
I actually did it!
I captured our life for one whole week.
Words can't begin to describe how excited I am right now that I am typing this and adding pictures for the 7th day of a documentation project.
You see, I'm one of those people that tends to run through life leaving a ton of unfinished projects in my wake. To have finally completed this is uh-may-zing!!!
Sundays are busy days for us!
We joke around and say that it's the start of our work week but honestly at times it feels like that is true.
This Sunday was more busy than normal because it was Grandpa Earl's birthday so we drove to Eaton in order to celebrate.
The day started off at 8:00 when our alarm goes off.
Part of our Sunday routine is that Daddy feeds Adeline and gives her her bath while Mommy gets some time to herself to take a long(er) shower than normal and spend some time getting ready.
We leave for church which is about 15 minutes away and we usually are running late. This Sunday we were running especially late and it was all my fault because I misjudged our time.
We teach the youth Sunday school class since Landen is the youth minister and we started a study on Esther this week. I'm really enjoying our Wednesday night bible study on Esther and I am hoping the youth will enjoy the story too.
I just so happened to open up my Bible and it fell on the page that my favorite verse is on. I of course had to take a picture to capture this coincidence!
My bible is an old friend. It's been there through good time and bad times and it is always the place I turn when I need good, honest advice. There are tear stains on pages where I was crying out for guidance and there are funny quotes and comments gained from bible studies shared with great friends. Even though it still bears my maiden name, I can't part with it. One day I'm sure I will trade up, but not just yet.
The service was great and lasted till about 12:15.
After church we headed to his Grandparent's house and commenced with the birthday celebration. We spent time eating and throwing football outside. It was the first time I had attempted to throw or do anything remotely athletic since my surgery and I was surprised that it didn't hurt at all. Other than my normal back pain which is becoming a good friend. Adeline got lots of attention from all the Grandparents, Great-Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. The food was amazing, as usual!
After the party it was straight back to church for choir practice and AWANA
and then home around 8:45 for a quick walk around the block and using the beautiful night light to take some pictures around the neighborhood. (And I didn't plan on the bird actually being on the street sign, but considering the name of our street it was actually quite fitting!)
So there we go. One week. I hope that your week was great, and that you took time to think about the little monotonous routines that make up your everyday. We have so much to be thankful for. Even if you don't take the time to carry a camera around and jot down notes of what is happening throughout the day, do something to record your memories. These are the best days of our life, and all too soon they will be replaced by other memories and forgotten. I'm glad I took the time to capture what our family looked like during a normal week. I am so thankful for everyday blessings!
Looks like you all had a great week! Congrats on completing your project.. doesn't it feel great when you finish something you wanted to!
