I have been reflecting lately on what I want from this precious little space that I take up on the internet.
For the last several years I have used this little spot of the World Wide Web to tell funny stories, share photos, occasionally vent about life's ordeals, and other random things.
Part of my problem is wanting to make this a place that people want to come visit, while still keeping it simple enough that I can be free of the guilt of posting every single day.
I am wanting to begin a regular posting schedule during the week and there are a couple of things that I know I want to include on a weekly basis. These are things like:
Scrapbooking Process video and weekly layout update.
An 'around here' type post to document the goings on of our life at the moment.
A misc post each week.
And a guest post featuring other scrapbookers and crafters who aren't well known but are still crazy creative.
If I stick with this schedule I will be posting faithfully 4 times a week with an optional 5th day.
Here's where you can help: what would you like to see from this space? What would bring you back day after day or lead you to subscribe? I have had a steady number of subscribers for some time, and my goal is not to become a mega blogger or anything like that. My goal is to simply use this space effectively to inspire and encourage others while capturing our life as we are living it.
I would REALLY appreciate feedback on this subject as I would love to begin prepping posts for next week in advance.
And if you would be interested in possibly being part of my weekly guest post series please let me know about that too. I am not a well-known scrapper, but I do love this hobby and I would love to have your beautiful creations in this space!
Thanks in advance and happy Wednesday!

I'm new to your blog, but I've been a subscriber to your youtube. I love the concept of sharing projects from other "regular people" scrappers - people that have a limited budget to work with. :)
ReplyDeleteI am working on a post right now about scrapbooking on a budget. It's a newer concept to me as my family just went on a pretty strict budget to try and pay off our student loan debt that we are tired of. I would love to write a post that talks about what I am doing to stay on budget and avoid the urge to buy a ton of stuff!
DeleteI think what you are proposing sounds great! love the look of your blog too clean and simple - keep going!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I recently redid it and got rid of a lot of things that were on my blog but weren't really necessary. I love how it looks now and it has really inspired me! Sometime simplicity is the best!
DeleteI think all of your ideas sound great! I love an around here post so we can get to know you better, and guest posters is a really fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteI also always like organizational ideas but I am not sure it needs to be a weekly thing. You only have so much stuff to organize. :)
I do like to organize things, my house is a little OCD but that's okay haha. I will definitely try to think of ways to share how I organize things. Perhaps I could start with our home management binder system. I will add it to the list!
DeleteI am also new to your blog, but am a YouTube subbie. I caught your first installment of a guest scrapbooker earlier today and loved it. Of course, I do so love process videos so that will always be a plus for me. But all in all, your ideas sound just great :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for subbing! I am really excited about the guest scrapbooker series. I think it's going to be loads of fun!
DeleteI think if you blog what you love your passion will come through and you will enjoy it. Which will help fuel new ideas that are bigger than u could have originally thought of.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I love anything organizing, mini journals, things involving my kids and how to incorporate their work and organize their stuff to scrapbook later. Your process for how you scrapbook daily life, events, your kids, etc. and....I love to make my own kits. Your take on making kits from your stash might be neat
Thanks so much! I actually filmed a video not too long ago that I never uploaded about how I do my kits. I will have to see about getting it edited and uploaded soon!
DeleteI like the idea of bringing in guest scrapbookers...genius. I like anything to do with mixed media, scrapbook layouts, organization tips. Anything related to scrapbooking.
ReplyDeleteLisa,
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am hoping to get a video of my scraproom filmed before I have this baby. I have a couple of organizational tips that I am going to be sharing too. I haven't gotten into mixed media much yet but I think it would be really fun! It kind of intimidate me but I love getting my hands messy so we shall see!
