I heart these kids...

Over the last year or so Landen and I have been extremely blessed to work with a great group of kids in our Youth Praise Band.
We love getting together and learning new songs (most of the time very quickly, and on the spot).
It's been a learning process and one that we really enjoy.

I wanted to share with you just a bit of the talent that we have in our group.
We have
Brad-Bass Guitar
Bauner- Electric Guitar
Jacob: Mandolin (how stinkin' awesome, right?)
Andrea: drums. Yeah, you heart that straight. We have a girl drummer! Booya!

And that incredible voice you hear about halfway through? That would be the hubs. Love him!
(In his defense, he didn't know this was being videoed, hence the random flipping through papers and then the random singing). Most of the time I am singing too but I took the night off.

PLEASE, PLEASE don't press the back button and actually listen! The kids have worked hard and would love some feedback.

So here ya go: FSBC Praise Team's rendition of "I'll Fly Away!"

I'm still around...

Just wanted to let you guys know that I am still alive.

I have really been slacking on my blog with all of the crazy things going on with our house. We are going through the inspection phase of it all and trying to find a new home all at the same time. We are pretty much pooped! I am hoping that within the next week or two we may resume to a somewhat normal pace and I will be able to get back to my blogging schedule! I've also got two sponsor feature posts left that I need to spotlight and I am so thankful that they have been understanding about the whole thing.

Thanks for being faithful. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this crazy, exciting, time in our lives!

A van, down by the river...

Goodness gracious it's been awhile!
Photobucket
If it wasn't for some scheduled sponsor feature posts that I scheduled to post weeks ago I might not have had a post in weeks! That's not like me at all.
There has definitely been some exciting things going on here at the O'Banion house.
1: it rained for like 2 weeks straight and lots of people in our area have suffered from flooding.
2. I got down to 121.6 on the scale! Woot Woot!
3. Landen got a random phone call from someone with some news we are praying about really hard (more on that later.)
and 4.
WE ENTERED INTO CONTRACT ON OUR HOUSE!
Yes, we are selling our home. Pending inspection of course. The last week and a half has consisted of nightly visits with our realtor to negotiate a selling price, and days of Landen sweating his heart out trying to get the place ready for the inspection. We still have a lot of work to do but the end is in sight.

I however, am an emotional wreck.
For one: this was first home and so of course it has sentimental attachments.
2. This was Abbey's first home too.
3. Landen, both of our dads, and his late grandpa built our deck. I want to take it with me.
4. I laid the tile in the kitchen.
and 5.
We have no place to go.
Well that's technically not true. We do have the option of living in a van down by the river. ..oh wait...I mean in a camper down by the pond at his parents, for a few months but I just can't get excited about the idea.
Landen is all for it...the whole saving money bit works great for him.
I on the other hand want a house. Something to live in. And it is the perfect timing because I would be off all summer to make it all homey like.
The only down side is that I also will not have a job after May 31st, so...it restricts our budget a little. I NEED A JOB! AN OFFICIAL TEACHING JOB, IN A CLASSROOM, WITH KIDS, AND MY NAME ON THE DOOR. (Thanks for listening).

So anyway, that's where we've been. I can't promise that I will be posting as often the next few weeks but I will try and keep you updated. It's a, hectic, time in our life. But I am excited about it...minus the whole van down by the river part. :S

Her blog seems to be at that great stage of growth where she has enough followers to offer interesting and timely, often-updated content, but no too many that she feels inaccessible. She's just so darn likeable!"
